Topping up pressure

If your system pressure drops you will need to top it up.
You will need to use these taps found under the boiler, only open them up 1/4 of a turn each as the pressure can go up very fast! Only a tiny turn, it is better to do too little than too much.

Top the pressure up to just over 1 bar, do not go much higher or your boiler could break down.

Smell gas??

If you smell gas and suspect a leak, you need to turn off the gas supply and contact your landlord. If you can't find the isolation point, ring the gas emergency service immediately on 0800 111 999.
You will typically find a box on the outside of your property with a meter and a lever you can pull into the off position. You will need a gas meter key like pictured above.
Your gas meter may be in your house under the stairs or in the garage.

Have a water leak??

IMG_1870.HEIC
If you have a leak in your property, you should immediately turn off the incoming water supply to the house. Do this by turning the stop tap clockwise. This is usually located under the sink or in a utility room. The tap may be stiff so if you struggle to turn it try using some grips or an adjustable spanner.

Once the water is isolated, call your landlord so they can arrange an urgent repair.

Flame failure fault?

Screen Shot 2020-04-29 at 12.33.02 PM.pn
If you get a fault code for flame failure (F28, E133, LF, F5, EA227, F04) the boiler isn't getting an adequate gas supply and has failed to ignite.
Make sure the gas is turned on at the meter and reset the boiler, it should clear the code and try to ignite again. If it fails again, the problem lies within the boiler and you will need to contact a gas safe engineer to investigate.
